Symptom: Legal Library does not start up / The Legal Library button does not appear on the Word Toolbar
Possible cause #1: You are running Word 2002
Solution: Save the file linked-to below to the same directory as your Winword.exe
(Right-Click and choose "Save Target As..." then navigate to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10 (on most systems) and then click 'Save'
Winword.exe.config
Possible cause #2: Instructions in the Installation Guide were not completed.
Solution: Be sure you have completed the following steps:
- Uninstall existing version of Legal Library 2005, if any. This can be done via Control Panel = Add/Remove Programs. Your existing saved documents and license key(s) will not be disturbed.
- Install Microsoft .Net Framework v2.0 (Click Download button in middle of the page.)
- Install Update for Office 2003 (KB907417) (Click Download button in middle of the page.)
Note: this is required even if you are running Word 2002
- Install Legal Library 2005 SP2
Possible cause #3: Something is not quite right with your Microsoft Word installation.
Solution: Insert your Microsoft Word / Office CD-ROM and select 'Repair'
Install Legal Library 2005 SP2
Symptom: Legal Library toolbar buttons are not enabled
Probable cause: You have not imported a current/ valid license.
Solution: Please refer to the Installation Guide for details on how to import your license.
Symptom: You get a message that your license is not valid.
Probable cause: The request that was sent for a license was sent from a different computer, or by a different user than the current computer/user.
Solution: Verify that you have imported the correct license. If necessary contact CBA support and request a new license.
If you encounter some other error, contact CBA Legal Library support. To assist in tracking down the source of the problem, you may be asked to turn on tracing.
